AI Product Engineering Intern

Shortlist is an early stage, fast-moving social marketing agency that helps brands grow. Our mission is to engineer viral marketing campaigns for amazing brands; we launch companies, features, products, and people.

We’ve realized that the current state of marketing technology is severely lagging behind what’s now possible with AI. It is our belief that the best agencies in the world will soon be operated by the very best people using the very best software. We’re growing our engineering team and building our primary internship program to power our social growth engine.

Shortlist is looking for an AI Product Engineering Intern to join our team and help us build up our AI and product infrastructure. We’re a small team of engineers and operators currently working with some of the biggest brands and content creators in the world, and looking to scale our engineering team to build the best software for running social marketing campaigns end-to-end. We’re passionate about designing systems that can unlock insights and find relevant content creators faster and better than any single marketer ever could.

Our flagship product, RoarOS, is the platform that Shortlist uses to run effective marketing campaigns. Our in-app agent can source the right creators, create and analyze campaigns, track posts and social channels in real-time, understand video content, and so much more. It’s the Swiss Army knife that every growth hacker has been missing. At Shortlist, you will be building RoarOS with us, working directly with real customers and internal operators to bring our vision to life.

Alongside RoarOS, you’ll be working closely with our team to develop our internal AI strategy. Our operations team at Shortlist delivers on customer requests with high velocity and high quality. To do this, we leverage frontier AI models and agents to automate core workflows. These workflows, today, are bespoke and still require a human in the loop. We’re looking for someone who is eager to create agent skills, set up cloud agent triggers, and distill our years of experience within social growth into agentic operations. Our grand vision is to have a “city of geniuses” working for every Shortlist-partnered brand, that can advise our strategy and scale our business beyond our headcount.

You’d probably be a good fit for us if:

• You’ve worked at a startup before, or have built web products yourself.
• You are comfortable building and debugging codebases written in TypeScript.
• You find yourself chronically online looking for the latest news in AI and model drops.
• You attend (or have attended) hackathons in the past, and feel fulfilled when you move fast.
• You can work independently, and seek problems out rather than just solve the ones we’d give you.
• You’re based in, or looking to move to, New York City.
