Kickoff

A program starts when you approve its brand basics and brief and pay its kickoff price.

Last updated

After you accept a program, it shows Awaiting payment, and its page opens on a kickoff card titled On the way to kickoff. Shortlist starts casting creators once the program is paid.

Steps#

  1. Approve the brand basics.
  2. Approve the brief. If the program has several campaigns, approve at least one campaign brief.
  3. Pay the kickoff price, shown on the card as Pay $1,500 or, for a monthly program, Pay the first month, $5,000 a month.

When both approvals are done, the card reads Ready to kick off and the button reads Pay and kick off. You can also pay first with Pay now and approve afterward.

Brand basics#

Creators read the brand basics before anything else. Select Write them (or Edit), fill in what applies, and select Save basics.

FieldPrompt
ProductWhat you sell, and the one thing it does best.
AudienceWho buys it, and where they spend time online.
ToneHow videos should feel. Funny, calm, direct.
LinksProduct page, brand assets, past videos you loved.
Never say or showClaims, competitors, or topics to stay away from.

If Shortlist filled them in for you, read them over and select Approve basics.

Briefs#

Each campaign in the program has a brief: what creators film, and the rules that always apply. Briefs are written in Markdown, and you can edit them before approving. When a brief is ready, select Approve brief, and Shortlist starts casting against it.

Under each brief you can add up to 8 example posts. Paste a link to any TikTok or Instagram post that shows the format, hook, or feel you want, and add a short note on what to take from it. Creators see the examples with the brief.

Payment#

Selecting a pay button opens Stripe checkout.

ProgramWhat you pay at kickoff
UGC AdsThe full price, once
Organic UGCThe first month, then monthly from kickoff
Influencer CampaignsShortlist's fee. The creator budget is billed separately.
Custom EngagementsThe price agreed with Shortlist

Payment is by card through Stripe, and you can enter a promotion code at checkout. To pay by invoice instead, tell your Shortlist contact; they mark the program paid once the invoice is settled.

Paying for a program doesn't change your Roar plan. The two are billed separately.

After payment#

When you return from checkout, the program page confirms the payment:
