Starting a program#

There are three ways to start one:

  • Build my program on your free brand report sends it to a strategist, who builds the program and sends it back, usually the same business day. See the quickstart.
  • Start now, pay at kickoff in the shop sets up the program you pick right away.
  • Book a call for Custom Engagements, or if nothing listed fits.

Nothing is billed until kickoff.

Statuses#

The program's page and its card under Offers show one of these:

StatusMeaning
Our team is drafting itA strategist is building the program from your report. We email you when it's ready.
Ready for youThe program is ready to review and accept.
Awaiting paymentYou've accepted it. Approve the brand basics and the brief, then pay to kick off.
Paid, with a dateKicked off and running.
Delivered, with a dateAll the work is done.
Cancelled, with a dateThe program was cancelled.

Accepting a program#

When a strategist finishes your program, you get an email titled "Your program for [your brand] is ready", and the program page shows Your program is ready with who built it, their note, and the price Due at kickoff.

You can change the brand basics or briefs before you accept. Select Start now, pay at kickoff to accept, or Talk it through first to book a call. Accepting creates the program's campaigns in your workspace and moves it to Awaiting payment.

Stages#

Once a program is accepted, its progress runs through five stages:

StageDone when
PaidYou've paid to kick off.
KickoffThe brand basics and a brief are approved.
CreatorsThe first creator has joined.
ProductionThe program's videos are delivered.
DeliveredThe program is complete.

The program card shows the current stage as Now: followed by its name.

Program page#

  • What Shortlist is on right now shows the team's latest status note.
  • Brand basics and The brief are what creators read before they film. See Kickoff.
  • Creators lists everyone being cast for the program and the stage each is at: Sourced, Reached out, Interested, Final stages, Joined, or Passed. Before kickoff it shows the kinds of creators Shortlist will cast; after kickoff, creators appear as they're found and contacted. Each creator's videos appear with their status: In review, Changes requested, Approved, Posted, or Not used.
  • Order shows the price, how it was paid (Card or Invoice), and when it started.
  • Activity lists what happened and when, such as "Shortlist sent you your program" and "Payment received".

Shortlist builds the creator list from its sourcing shortlists. A shortlist linked to a program shows the program's name, and you can move a list to another program with Add to a program.

Home#

Home is the first page in the sidebar.

Before a program is paid, Home shows a Getting started checklist for it: review and accept the program, approve the brand basics, approve the brief, pay to kick off, creators join, and first videos delivered.

After kickoff, Home's Waiting on you card lists anything that needs you across your programs:

When nothing needs you, it shows "Nothing is waiting on you."

Access before kickoff#

Until a program is paid, your workspace shows Home, Chat, Offers, and Settings. The rest of Roar, including Overview, Campaigns, Shortlists, Creators, and Tags, opens once you pay to kick off. Workspaces on a Roar plan have the whole app either way.

Monthly programs#

Organic UGC is billed monthly, starting at kickoff, and renews each month. To change or cancel a monthly program, contact your Shortlist contact or email hello@shlist.com.
